For the 12th edition of 180° – Laboratory for Innovative Art in 2025, we are thrilled to present our renowned Silent Short Film Contest.

This year’s captivating theme is PARAD-ISO, inviting all festival participants and contest entrants to explore and interpret the word through their own unique lens.

We intentionally leave the interpretation open and unrestricted, giving you full creative freedom to explore your unique vision of the theme.
The contest has just the following requirements: the film must be shot using a mobile phone or tablet, and it must be silent (without sound).

Our jury will carefully select the finalists from a pool of outstanding short films.
During the festival’s closing event, each finalist film will be presented twice: first in its original silent form, and immediately after — accompanied by a live, improvised soundtrack performed by our 180° musicians, who will be seeing the film for the very first time.
At the end of the event, the audience will vote to select the ultimate winner.

The 180° prize amount for 2025 is set at BGN 300.

Who can participate?

Professionals and amateur film makers – to enter the competition you must be at least 18 years old, and you must reside in Bulgaria.

What are the requirements?

Shoot a silent short film (up to 1 min.) on your interpretation of the PARAD-ISO topic. This year’s requirement is that the videos must be filmed with a mobile phone or a tablet and with no sound. Send it to us by October 13th 2025 via our form here.

The finalists will be announced by October 16th.
