With the eleventh edition of 180° – laboratory for innovative art in the year 2024, we are thrilled to announce our renowned silent short film contest. This year, the captivating topic is “tacet”. All festival participants and contest entrants are invited to explore their own understanding of this word.

We intentionally leave the interpretation open-ended and unrestricted, allowing you the utmost creative freedom to develop your unique vision on the topic. The only requirement for this year’s contest is that the film must be captured using a mobile phone or tablet, and it should be without sound.

Our esteemed jury will carefully select the finalists from the pool of outstanding short films. During the festival, these films will be accompanied by live improvisation performances by our talented 180° musicians. In the final stage of the competition, the audience will have the opportunity to vote and select the ultimate winner.

The 180° prize amount for 2024 is set at BGN 300.

Who can participate?

Professionals and amateur film makers – to enter the competition you must be at least 18 years old, and you must reside in Bulgaria.

What are the requirements?

Shoot a silent short film (up to 1 min.) on your interpretation of the “tacet” topic. This year’s requirement is that the videos must be filmed with a mobile phone or a tablet and with no sound. Send it to us by 30 September 2024 via our form here.
You can apply only with one video.

The finalists will be announced by October 4th.
