CHRISTOPH CLAUSEN

Christoph Clausen, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1990, is a director and author. He studied literature and theatre studies and music theatre directing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. From 2011, he worked as an actor in various off-theatre companies, including Hebbel am UferTheater, Heimathafen Neukölln and Ackerstadtpalast. Since 2016, he has staged various theatre evenings, working at the Komische Oper, Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsches Theater and Philharmonie Luxembourg, among others, in collaboration with Ulrich Rasche, Manos Tsangaris and the independent opera company Novoflot. He has been writing his own dramatic texts since 2018. His own productions have been shown at various theatres in Berlin in recent years. In 2021 he co-founded the independent music theatre ensemble VORTEX. In his artistic work, Christoph Clausen creates immersive counter-worlds between installation and opera.

DIMITAR GORCHAKOV

Musician/Pianist

Dimitar Gorchakov is a Bulgarian pianist who started with classical music from young age and continued in the field of experimentation, blending styles and improvisation.  He combines his love for photography and music, creating performances that constantly evolve and challenge the audience to be direct participants. The pianist’s current and future projects involve creating original jazz and electronic music, using synthesizers and acoustic instruments

DMYTRO GRYNOV

Dmytro Grynov is a Ukrainian performing artist based in Berlin, Germany. Dmytro works in the fields of performing arts, cinematography and pedagogy. As an emerging choreographer, he created several full-length works as well as commissioned short works which were supported by various public funding in Germany and creative residencies in performing arts centers across Europe. Dmytro’s works were showcased in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Malta, Belgium and Finland. Most prominent were at Malta International Arts Festival, Devir Capa Performing Arts Center, Scanes Dance Theater, Schwankhalle, Gdansk Dance Festival, Dance Plataforma, EuroScene Leipzig, Platform 14, One to One Festival, 10 sentidos, Danzad Danzad Malditos amongst others. Dmytro’s choreography combines intense physicality and striking visuals to create an immersive experience. Using his “Free Limits” methodology, he blends various dance styles into a unique vocabulary that addresses social inclusion and highlights ecological and climate change issues. As performer, Dmytro worked in numerous theater and film productions across Europe with dance companies and independent artists such as Batsheva (Guy Shomroni, Erez Zohar, Yaniv Abraham), Göteborgsoperans Danskompani (Jim de Block) Ultima Vez (Sebastian Mente Maligna, Maria Kolegova), Sasha Waltz & Guests, Shifft/Jasper van Luijk, Unusual symptoms/Theater Bremen, Bodytalk, XX Tanz Theater, X Filme, SKY Television, Tom Tykwer, Todd Fields, Every Friday etc.

Dimitar Gorchakov (Bulgaria) is a pianist and composer who skillfully weaves together various musical styles. Over the years, he has been involved in experimental and improvisational projects in the fields of music and theater across Europe, North, and South America. Dancer and choreographer Dmytro Grynov (Ukraine) combines diverse dance styles with striking immersive visuals. His work focuses on current issues such as social inclusion and climate change. Director and author Christoph Clausen (Germany) works in the field between installation art and opera for various theaters in Berlin. In 2021, he co-founded the independent musical theater ensemble VORTEX.
