Rositsa Grancharova is a National Academy of Art Sofia graduate. She is an active scenic and costume designer for theatre, dance and performance. She is also interested in painting and drawing and incorporating them in video and sound, as well as with objects and scenes from life.
Lina Andonovska is a European-based Australian flute player, and an advocate for new music. Her recent solo performance at the Melbourne International Arts Festival was hailed as ‘re-defining the act of going solo’ by The Age, and her debut record has been critically acclaimed globally. She has worked with composers including Louis Andriessen, Donnacha Dennehy, Andrew Ford, Anthony Pateras, Ann Cleare and Bryce Dessner to name a few. She has appeared with ensembles Australian Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, Crash Ensemble, stargaze and with flautist Claire Chase. She is currently completing the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt am Main, and will be appearing with eighth blackbird when the restrictions are lifted.
Corné Roos is a Dutch composer based in Cologne, Germany. He completed his BA at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague under the guidance of Calliope Tsoupaki, Gilius van Bergeijk and Yannis Kyriakides and his MA at the Conservatory of Music of Cologne with Markus Hechtle and is now the composer of this year’s Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie. His music mainly reflects upon transparent and fragile sound worlds.
American violinist Holly Workman is an active performer of traditional and contemporary classical music and has appeared in concerts across the US and Europe. Holly has performed as a guest artist with the MIVOS Quartet and Ensemble Modern and has performed with the JACK Quartet, Irvine Arditti, Sō Percussion, and Alan Pierson, among others. She has worked closely with numerous composers, including George Lewis, Steve Reich, and Charles Wuorinen. She has appeared as a soloist with the OSSIA Ensemble and has performed with many other ensembles including the Slee Sinfonietta. She holds a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music with High Distinction from the Eastman School of Music and is currently a fellow in International Ensemble Modern Academy.
Leonel Quinta is a Portuguese clarinet player who did his Bachelor at University of Évora and after continued to do his Master in Performance at Hochschule für Musik in Basel (FHNW). He had the opportunity to work with different ensembles such as Het Vers Ensemble (Groningen, The Netherlands) and Remix Ensemble (Oporto, Portugal) and Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt, Germany). During the last season (2018/19) he was doing an Internship with the Bern Symphony Orchestra. He has worked with conductors as Heinz Holliger, Jürg Henneberger, Mike Svoboda, Mario Venzago, Peter Rundel and Jean-Sébastien Béreau. Since last October he is a member of Ensemble Modern Academy (Frankfurt, Germany).
Lucia Kilger worked as an audio and video technician for live broadcasts before she started her Bachelor of Music in Music Design (Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen). After this she finished a Master of Music degree in electroacoustic composition (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln) and is currently Sound Designer as part of the International Ensemble Modern Academy. Her main passion is working on cross-disciplinary projects.
